Artist sitting on the floor smiling, wearing orange dungarees

Part time creative, part time dirt-dweller . . .

Hi, I’m Sonya.

I’m an Oregon transplant who was called here by the smell of rotting leaves and the particular way that the fog lingers in the pines.

I draw most of my inspiration from the natural world, and the rest from un-knowable liminal places.

I transitioned from a lifetime of traditional art into tattooing in January of 2023. I find great joy in the challenges and triumphs of attempting to master a living, breathing, dynamic medium that can experience pain and respond with assertion.

When I’m not painting or inking, you’ll find me in the fabric of the local food system. From plucking culinary mushrooms in woods, to the sharp precision of a well-cultivated row of salad, I know myself best when gathered around nourishment’s source.
