Artist sitting on the floor smiling, wearing orange dungarees

Part time creative, part time dirt-dweller . . .

Hi, I’m Sonya.

I’m a Eugene transplant and have been roaming around Oregon since 2018. I was first called here by the smell of rotting leaves and the way the fog lingers in the pines.

My art places a heavy emphasis on natural, surrealist and psychedelic themes, interwoven with storytelling and my own depictions of long-established archetypes. My traditional work is primarily made with watercolors, ink, and colored pencils, and in the early months of 2023, I began my career as a tattoo artist.

I now works out of a studio in South Eugene at Oregon Ink Tattoo & Beauty. When not creating art, I can be found frequenting local forests, farmers markets, and the warm kitchens of close friends. From plucking culinary mushrooms in woods, to the sharp precision of a well-cultivated row of salad, I know myself best when gathered around nourishment’s source.
